| Not the best picture, I know. But the thing was huge. Probably about 3-4 inches, which for northern VA is big. I've looked around and am thinking maybe a wolf spider, but thought I'd share here to see if anyone has seen this before. It looked nasty. Thanks!  | |

| Was it in a web?
Looks like an orbweaver (Araneid), possibly one of the introduced European species. They're common in VA but often seen only in the evenings/early mornings as they are nocturnal. Not at all dangerous despite the size.
