Spider found in Brasil - can you tell me more about it?

Hello, I found this spider in a hotel Garden near Foz de Iguazu on the border Brasil - Argentina. When I approached it it stood up and put the front legs in the air to defend itself. Can you tell me what sort of spider this is? It also jumped on my show and grabed it when i put it too close, after that I left it alone..

You said you found it in Brazil and it seemed aggressive, which led me to guess that maybe it could have been a Brazilian Wandering Spider? Did it look anything like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_wandering_spider ?
I'm not really an expert or anything, but this is what I thought of.
